May was a terrific month for my quilts to be seen in two separate magazines. Let me tell you about those:
Last summer I was interviewed by Andrea Hungerford of www.byhandserial.com. Andrea and her photographer Karen De Witz ,were touring Nova Scotia, admiring our countryside and visiting with a
wide range of textile artisans. The results of their sojourn they published in Lookbook No.9. The book includes quilters & quilt arts, fabric shops, wool & yarns, rug hookers, knitters, growing flax, patterns, pickling and sea glass jewelry. The magazine itself creates an inviting tour of Nova Scotia and if the rain stops, maybe I'll hop in the car and follow the same trail. Take a peek at their website for ordering their book, you will not be disappointed!
Arriving at the end of May was the issue of Canadian Quilter Magazine published by the Canadian Quilters Association. Kim Caskey shared the story of Whispers Canada in their summer issue. Go to Facebook and look up World Wide Whisper Wonders and you will see many of the creations.
Kim let us know the show is touring Ireland, Scotland, England, the Netherlands, Sweden, 6 shows in the United States and returning to Canada for Quilt Canada in Edmonton 2020. Pretty Exciting!
Another of my quilts as published in the same magazine under their "Get Inspired" column. It was my Maritime Weathervane:
This was a fun little piece to make, reminding me of a candy dish too. Now how to create a real one in a handy size? You may order that magazine from www.canadianquilter.com
