Daisy Duckling 19 ½” X 25 ½”
This piece is an amalgamation of three workshops I teach. Rather than duplicate the old, I took the background from a Woven Quilt workshop, added daisies from the Parchment Oak Leaves workshop, and stitched in Daisy Duckling from a Pet Portrait workshop. It was fun to do a whimsical project. |

Honu 29 ¾” X 49 ¾”
Hawaiian for turtle. It is a capture of the moment when spotting green sea turtles for the first time while snorkeling in Kane Ohe Bay. The only sounds were my heartbeat and my breathing. Magical!

All My Ducks in a Row Size: 38 ½” X 61 ¾”
This piece was adapted from a photograph I took at Shubie Park. Although the day was mild the ducks kept their beaks in their feathers. My sense of humor was tweaked because the ducks were in a row and looked like they were posing for me. I used commercial prints to give a more quilterly effect rather than that of a photograph. To create a little less contrast, the background water was dry brushed with fabric paint . I raw-edge appliquéd the leaves in the water to add more dimension.
Curated in to the National Juried show, Kitchener - Waterloo Art Gallery, 2006, Kitchener, Ont
